A cross between a casual diner and a chic bistro.
Actually, Le Cristaal is a combination of delicatessen, all-day
diner and bistro. It’s building up a collection of breads, cheese
and meats towards the first; a selection of grilled meats,
sea food, salads, sandwiches, pastas and plated entrees to cater
to those who drop in for heartier fare and, now that they have
acquired the liquor license, they have a range of
wines, cocktails and spirits to precede the food.
Rajesh Sadhwani, Payal Shah, Ritikaa Sadhwani — who have
helmed pubs and eateries like Mocha, Pub World and Couch
 — are clear about their USP: an all day dining space, an eatery
that fits both the labels of a bistro and a deli. Located at the
junction between Lavelle Road and Vittal Mallya Road,
Le Cristaal gains the advantage of a great location and
makes the most of it, too.
Despite the somewhat compact nature of the eatery,
diners get distressed interiors, triomphe l’oeil work on walls,
and an airy outdoor seating area. If it’s a confusion of
profusion, well, Le Cristaal does happen to be perched
on three stools: a deli/diner/bistro.
Le Cristaal happens to be in an area literally crawling
with casual and fine dining restaurants
but Ritikaa Sadhwani says, “We are not competing
with the established brands around us,
we are creating a new market for our unique
concept.” The food runs through a gamut of
croissants and waffles for breakfast, burgers,
salads, pizzas, pastas, risottos, and a fine
line-up of desserts. This place deserves an E
 for effort.
Bottomline: One more place to meet and hang out.
